Hyperbolic crochet

Hyperbolic crochet was first proposed by the mathematician Prof. Daina Taimina as a practical, beautiful and (in my opinion) very fun way to represent mainly hyperbolic surfaces (but it can also be used for any type of surface; crochet is super versatile!)<

As a compulsive crocheter I had to try to make some myself of course - and get my fellow PhD students to crochet as well.
